Hello Everyone!

A heartfelt welcome to Brandon Park Primary School! We take great pride in our multicultural and diverse student population, with 49% of our students speaking a language other than English at home. Currently, we have 604 students enrolled, creating a vibrant and inclusive community.

Our curriculum is thoughtfully designed to be of the highest quality, providing a broad range of learning opportunities that cater to the needs of all students. We believe in fostering intellectual engagement, promoting a sense of connectedness to the wider world, and creating supportive classroom environments that embrace and value our differences. These principles are deeply embedded within our school culture.

At Brandon Park Primary School, our utmost commitment is to prioritise the needs of our children. Their learning and wellbeing are at the forefront of everything we do. We provide explicit and carefully focused instruction that ignites a natural curiosity within our students, empowering them to strive for excellence. In our nurturing environment, amazing things happen every day as our students explore and discover the wonders of the world around them.

Assistant Principal’s Welcome

Rebecca Pal

Assistant Principal - Curriculum

Welcome to Brandon Park Primary School! As the Assistant Principal for Curriculum, I take great pride in leading our team of dedicated teachers who are committed to evidence-based educational practices. We embrace the powerful instructional method known as Explicit Direct Instruction, along with the principles of the Science of Reading and Learning, which guide our teaching approach.

At BPPS, we hold high expectations for every student, and we take joy in celebrating their individual achievements as they progress and consistently exceed expectations in their learning journeys. Our ultimate goal is to instil a genuine passion for learning and cultivate curiosity in all our students as they embark on their exploration of the world around them.

As a school community, we strive to create a nurturing and supportive environment where each student feels empowered to reach their full potential. We value the unique strengths and talents that every child brings, and we are dedicated to fostering their growth and development in all aspects of their education.

We believe in fostering a strong partnership between home and school, and we actively encourage open communication and collaboration with parents and caregivers. Together, we can ensure that our students receive the best possible educational experience and lay a solid foundation for their future success.

Once again, welcome to Brandon Park Primary School. We are excited to embark on this educational journey together, and we look forward to inspiring and supporting your child's growth, curiosity, and love for learning.

Warm regards,

Assistant Principal - Wellbeing

Student Wellbeing is at the forefront of everything we do at Brandon Park Primary School. We believe that in order for students to learn to their full potential they need to feel safe, valued and respected in their learning environment.

At Brandon Park Primary School, we aim to provide a safe, nurturing, dynamic learning community that leaves no child behind. The Literacy and Numeracy Intervention programs are a testament to that. We provide an environment and curriculum that challenges students to achieve their highest potential and that develops knowledge, skills and resilience to be successful empathic school community members.

Within our learning community, the Respectful Relationships Program, the Resilience Project and the Zones of Regulation underpin teaching and learning and guide interactions between teachers and students and amongst students themselves. The Wellbeing PLC has been pivotal in planning and guiding the delivery of very effective whole school programs.

A collaboration with DFFH, and VT Uniting has allowed the school to participate in an ongoing partnership program that has seen a Family Wellbeing Practitioner, appointed to the school to assist families to access support across many different agencies.

In addition to these family supports, Brandon Park Primary School offers short term onsite counselling services to students through the partnership with Monash University.

Kind regards,

Todd Bates
